Use a skimmer net to remove leaves, insects, and other debris floating on the surface of the water.
BRUSH THE WALLS AND TILES
Scrub the walls and tiles of the pool with a pool brush to loosen dirt, algae, and other buildup. Pay special attention to areas with low circulation.
VACUUM THE BOTTOM
Use a pool vacuum to clean the bottom of the pool, removing dirt, sediment, and debris that has sunk to the bottom
EMPTY SKIMMER & PUMP BASKETS
Remove and empty the skimmer baskets and pump baskets to ensure proper water flow and filtration
CHECK THE CHEMICAL BALANCE
Test the water chemistry using a pool test kit and adjust the chemical levels as needed to maintain proper pH, chlorine, and alkalinity levels
SHOCK POOL (IF NECESSARY)
If the water appears cloudy or has an unusual odor, shock the pool by adding a concentrated dose of chlorine to kill bacteria and algae.
BACKWASH THE FILTER (AS NEEDED)
If you have a sand or DE filter, backwash it to remove trapped dirt and debris and restore filtration efficiency.
MONITOR EQUIPMENT
Check the pool equipment, such as pumps, filters, and heaters, for any signs of damage or malfunction. Repair or replace any faulty equipment as necessary.
